What To Wear and Useful Info.

No previous experience required!  Our classes are aimed at all ages from 16 and over.  We have members ranging from 16 to 86 years.  All levels of fitness, all shapes & sizes are more than welcome to come join in the fun at our Zumba® Fitness  Party Classes!

If you are or have been suffering from an illness / injury, are starting a new weight loss program / exercise regime or even if you have been inactive for sometime, we would advise you to consult your G.P. prior to starting a class or classes.  Once you have your G.P's permission to take part, come along and join in the fun at any of our classes. A completed PARQ form will be required when joining the class for the 1st time and also to make me aware of any health issues you have before the class starts. Zumba® is NOT recommended during pregnancy (unless you have the 'OK' from your GP) but imagine all the fun you can have getting back into shape after the baby arrives!

You should choose comfortable loose fitting clothing such as t-shirts, jogging bottoms, leggings or shorts that will stretch and move with your body and that won't interfere with dance / exercise movements.  Socks should fit snugly and be thick enough to provide a barrier against possible blisters.  Shoes MUST be worn!  Bare feet is not an option!

Choose the right shoes that offer stability and cushion your movements but observe the amount of traction on the shoes.  Too much traction can impede dance footwork.  Aerobic trainers are ideal as trainers specifically meant for running can have too much traction when executing a twisting motion.  Wrist & ankle weights should not be worn during class. If you are considering buying clothes made specifically for Zumba® Fitness Classes. The Zumba® Website www.zumba.com  offers a variety of Zumba® Fitness Clothing in a wide array of sizes, styles and colours for Male and Female dancers.

Bring water / fluids to rehydrate yourself, a towel, a spray of your deodorant and a fun loving party attitude!

Should I Eat Before The Class?.... Yes please do! It is important that you have plenty energy in preparation for the class. We would also recommend having something healthy to eat afterwards to replace all the energy you used during the class. Please allow a certain amount of time to let your food digest before exercise and make sure the food you are eating is the right type of energy boosting food.

Pushing yourself too hard, too early, will only stop you from enjoying yourself, therefore missing out on the benefits of leading a healthier and longer life!
